Our Philosophy

There is a set of core rules that all gun owners must know to be considered safe and responsible. We embrace the courses offered by the NRA as our foundation for education, and have expanded on that foundation a curriculum of practical and tactical techniques for self defense as it applies to concealed carry and self defense. We offer classes for Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun and specialize in beginner to intermediate shooters.

Below is our menu of courses, all of which can be tailored to your specific needs or interests. We offer private training courses for groups of 4 or more, or we will quote you a daily rate from groups of 3 or less.

New Shooter Combo Pistol- Our Most Popular Course

We have found the perfect combination of education for a new shooter! The NRA First Steps Pistol along with our Pistol 1 offers 8 hours of training and will take you thru all the basics of safe handling, parts and functions of the gun and marksmanship. We also offer this combo for shotgun training.

F.I.R.S.T. Steps Program

F.I.R.S.T. stands for “Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training”, a program the NRA developed to meet the need for a firearms orientation program for new gun purchasers. This FIRST Steps program is a basic courses abbreviated to the most fundamental shooting skills, and the specifics of a particular model of pistol, rifle or shotgun.

CAPS Practical Firearms Training

We have developed a curiculum of classes that takes you beyond the basics that the NRA courses offer. Our courses below are spent entirely at the range and skill sets are taught based on repetition and a defensive mindset. We do not teach offensive skills sets such as room clearing, or close quarter battle techniques which are designed for working in teams, more appropriate for law enforcement and military. Our focus is the responsable armed citizen.
